Organising a camp at the Riiho Guest House is easy because we have experience on organising the camps since 1993! The Riiho Guest House in the heart of Central Finland provides a cosy setting for confirmation camps and camps for children, young people and families. It is also an ideal place for camp schools, thanks to its interesting environment and highly functional facilities. For your summer and winter camps, we provide a setting that creates a strong sense of community.
The 100-year-old village school has seen many generations of children and young people. The Guest House building served as a school for some 90 years. Children and young people continue to have a special place in our hearts. We have more than 25 years of experience in organising confirmation camps and camps for children and young people. We have organised camps for groups of more than 100. Our facilities are ideal for many types of camps!
Peace and quiet
In our peaceful rural setting, camp participants can fully focus on learning and activities, spending time together and enjoying the unhurried atmosphere. Our location by Lake Riihijärvi in a village setting surrounded by wilderness offers unforgettable camp experiences. We organise only one camp or event at a time, so we are here only for you and can fully accommodate your schedule.
Tasty food
Tasty, wholesome food is a prerequisite for a successful camp, as it provides the energy needed for exploring fun new things. We serve pure country cooking, made from scratch in our own kitchen. Locally sourced ingredients ensure its good flavour. Our guests are often welcomed by the scent of freshly baked bread or pastries, as we bake every day. We treat our guests to freshly baked bread rolls and traditional archipelago-style bread, as well as doughnuts, sweet buns and many other delicacies. We want to make every camp a great success!
Facilities for camps
A successful camp experience requires functional and safe facilities. The shared facilities at the Guest House are light, spacious and flexible for many purposes, such as education, worship and various activities. Camps can use the upper classroom and the sports hall as a facility for teaching, evening events or activities, or as a chapel or lounge. The lower classroom can be used as a canteen and a group-work facility for small groups. The fireplace room can be used as a break room and a group-work facility for small groups. The school’s old sports hall is suitable for many purposes. It has plenty of space for children to play or do arts and crafts. During camps, it can serve as a facility for activities according to need, and mattresses and linen turn it into an accommodation facility. The sports hall has a pool table and an electric piano. We have sufficient group-work facilities for all camps. We offer accommodation in rooms for 2–9 people, with beds for 45 people in total. Come and create unforgettable camp experiences with us!
